Your Library Commissioners and the Executive Staff

Listed below is information on our library commissioners.  These are the people who are making decisions about our libraries, including how our tax dollars are spent and which libraries will remain open.  Have a question?  Want to speak your mind about issues regarding the library?  These are the people who want to hear your concerns.

They need to know we are paying attention to the kinds of decisions they are making.

Library Commission Members

The Detroit Public Library is an independent, municipal corporation governed by a seven member Detroit Library Commission. Members are appointed by the Detroit Public Schools Board of Education. The seventh member, the current president of the Board of Education, is an ex-officio member.
