Clippings from the Green Thumbs Garden Group

Tuesday mornings from 10:15-12:00 p.m. are the time to get into the garden and see what is growing. Last week we were amazed to find heads of brocolli, and clusters of tomatoes. It seems that a wiley bunny rabbit has found our strawberry patch. We made our garden journals and heard two stories titled Garden Colors and Lady Bugs. There were also butterflies and bees visiting the garden to help with plant pollenation and make the vegetables grow.

We are going to have to tie our tomatoe plants back because the fruit is heavy and a few of them were lying close to the ground. We also had an opportuntiy to water the plants. Next week we hope tha tthe cabbage will be ready to harvest. We have red and green cabbage.

  1. I think Professor Conja Wright and the staff are doing wonders at the Redford Branch Library. We must not forget the invaluable help of Friends of the Redford Branch Library who help this library reach another level. That is what Kwanzaa is all about. Peace!!! The Dancing Poet.
