KUDOS!!

Meet Ms Barbara Parker, a laid off Detroit Public Library Librarian, who continues to give back to the community.  She came into the Redford Branch to read to the children on "Bring Your Child to the Library Day," on Saturday, February 4.
We need to let the library commissioners know that the libraries that remain open need qualified staff to serve our patrons.  The very people whose hard earned tax dollars keep the libraries up and functioning.
Many thanks to Ms. Barbara Parker!

This month's book selection is The Mountain Between Us by Charles Martin
Ben Payne, an orthopedic surgeon, can't return home to Florida after a medical convention in Colorado Springs. Due to an advancing winter storm, commercial flights are cancelled. But Grover, a seasoned private pilot, will take him and a fellow passenger, Ashley Knox. Ben has invited Ashley, a writer from Atlanta, because when they casually met at the airport, she confided that she was on her way home to her wedding. He cherishes the memory of marrying his beloved wife, Rachel, and can't resist offering the young woman the chance to get home in time for her own nuptials. Although the tremendous storm is advancing rapidly, Grover is confident that he can outrun it.
Find out what happens...stop by our circulation desk and pick up a copy of the book and join us for the discussion March 31.
