Here is an Opportunity to Give... Water

This is an amazing group, doing amazing things to bring clean water to parts of the world that don't have access to it.  Having clean water in our homes is something we tend to take for granted.
Can you help make a difference?  Watch.

Around Detroit
Detroit is a city on the way up!  There is lots to see and do here.  Listed below is just a small sample of ways to spend your time in the D.

Taste of Eastern Market

Cooking Demonstration Series
June - October Every Saturday
Shed 2
10 AM - Noon
Grab your fork because life is a feast at Eastern Market. From June to October our 22 week Taste of Eastern Market Series takes place every Saturday. This series guides spectators through the preparation of seasonal recipes and introduces shoppers to the rich bounty of fresh fruits and vegetables Michigan has to offer.

Featured chefs and nutrition experts instruct and perform demonstrations on the preparation, storage, preservation, and health benefits of food products found at the Market. Curious cooks watch chefs as they turn the Market's seasonal produce into simple and delectable dishes. The focus during the season is on healthy and nutritious food. Recipes are distributed during the demonstrations and the week's featured dish is cooked and sampled on the spot.

The Chef Line Up:

Aug 6 – Chef Chris Franz of Rattlesnake
Aug 27 – Chef Andrew Hollyday of Roast

New Center Park is a unique green space located on the southwest corner of Second Avenue and West Grand Boulevard across from the Fisher Building. It represents an exciting opportunity for New Center Council to provide a “quality of life” amenity for residents, employees and visitors of the neighborhood. Renovation of this existing “pocket park” into a flexible outdoor concert, activity and concession venue (1200 person capacity) and seasonal programming will begin on June 4th and continue throughout the summer.
