Co-ed intergenerational sewing classes for beginners to tailors. Projects are class devised and you may work at your own pace. Must be 8 years old up.

The 38th annual Noel Night will take place on Saturday, December 4th from 5:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. in Midtown Detroit's Cultural Center Area. Over 60 Midtown venues, including the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Detroit Science Center, the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, the Detroit Historical Museum, and the Detroit Public Library, amongst many others, open their doors to the public free of charge during this Cultural Center-wide holiday "open house." Activities include horse-drawn carriage rides, holiday shopping, family craft activities and performances by over 120 area music, theatre, and dance groups.
The evening's festivities culminate with a community sing-along on Woodward Avenue led by the Salvation Army Band - a long-standing Noel Night tradition.
Noel Night activities take place in and around Midtown Detroit's Cultural Center institutions, primarily between Cass and John R and Kirby and Willis. Free shuttle service is offered between participating venues. Convenient parking is available in area lots. Noel Night is produced by the University Cultural Center Association (UCCA), a nonprofit community development organization that supports economic growth in Detroit's Midtown district. This event is Free and open to the public.

Recreation Dept. to Host Breakfast with Santa
The Detroit Recreation Department will host Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 11 at the Belle Isle Casino. There will be two seatings, 9 a.m and 11:30 am
Participants will enjoy breakfast, crafts, letters to Santa and a winter wonderland walk.
Tickets are $5 per person. Pictures with Santa will be available for an additional fee. For tickets and additional information, please contact your recreation center or call (313) 628-2081.

Wayne County Lightfest

Open each night at 7:00 p.m. and closing at 10:00 p.m. the Wayne County Lightfest display begins at Hines Drive and Merriman Road in Westland and proceeds one way and exits through the concession areas onto Warren Avenue near Telegraph in Dearborn Heights.
Come out and enjoy the food concessions, take photos with Santa (November 25th - December 23rd), see over 1,000 lighted and animated displays. and restrooms are at the end of the Lightfest at Warrendale Picnic Area. (Closed December 25th, Christmas Day).
